- Winnipeg
Danielle is excited to join the Leela Eco Spa team as a psychotherapist. At the heart of Danielle’s life and practice is compassion and an unwavering belief in hope…hope for a better today and a brighter tomorrow. Life has shown her that with time and hard work, everyone is capable of change.
This is where compassion is key—compassion for ourselves, and for others. Danielle believes wholeheartedly that holding space for grace in today’s volatile world is essential for growth and change. Danielle holds a Master of Counselling (MC) degree through the University of Lethbridge and is a provisional Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling & Psychology Association (CCPA).
Danielle also holds a Bachelor of Education and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Counselling from the University of Winnipeg. She was a school counsellor for approximately eight years and currently teaches high school English, history, and career development.
As a curious, lifelong student, Danielle continues to train and expand her therapeutic skills through workshops and seminars in a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Existential-Humanistic Psychotherapy (EHP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. Danielle has extensive experience in addictions counselling, suicide prevention and awareness training, and non-violent crisis intervention.
Danielle has been married for over 25 years and has two sons, ages 18 and 20. She is an active member of the Canadian Counselling & Psychology Association (CCPA) School Counsellor’s Executive, the Manitoba Association for Career Development (MACD), and the Manitoba School Counsellors Association (MSCA).
She believes strongly in supporting her community and has been a volunteer with Folklorama, the United Way, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, and the Tara Players Irish Theatre Company, to name a few. Danielle works with individuals from teens to seniors, couples, and groups.
