Tanya Thordarson

RMT | Calgary
After retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces Tanya decided to move back to her hometown of Calgary. As someone who experienced a number of injuries through the course of military service and athletics, Tanya has had a very personal and positive experience with manual therapy. This experience was part of the driving force for going back to school. She graduated from the Mount Royal University massage therapy program finishing at the top of her class. She is a member in good standing with the MTAA (Massage Therapy Association of Alberta). Tanya is interested in helping clients achieve their personal goals, whether that is reducing/managing pain or anxiety, increasing relaxation, returning to activity or improving muscle balance and joint mobility. She is trained in therapeutic and relaxation massage with a focus of interest on lower back conditions and chronic pain. She has recently added evidence informed clinical cupping to her skill set. Tanya wants all people to feel welcome and comfortable coming in for a massage. Whatever your needs, she wants to be involved in your health journey as a collaborative force. Tanya continues to keep active through cycling, hiking and skiing. When she is not out in the mountains or on her bicycle Tanya is usually reading, discovering new wines or developing her creative BBQing skills. Every now and then she also is able to fit in pretty awe-inspiring scuba diving trips. She is joined in Calgary by her feline friend, Winnie.
