Sydney is a Registered Massage Therapist and Traditional Thai Massage Practitioner. She has her RMT license as a member of NHPC in Alberta and CMTBC in BC. She graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 2200H program in Victoria in 2017. In 2015, she finished her professional 150 hour certificate at the Thai Massage School of Thailand. Sydney is a long term student of yoga, she has completed 500+ hours of yoga teacher training in India, Thailand and with Yoga Outreach. She is pursuing studies in the somatic bodywork field (Somatic Experiencing®) and Chinese 5 Element Acupressure to learn holistic, trauma informed care. Sydney has an interest in using massage as an embodiment tool to treat emotional and mental health challenges, high levels of stress, chronic pain and complex health issues. Sydney incorporates Thai compressions/stretching, acupressure, postural assessment, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, visceral manipulation and more. Sydney strives to combine Eastern and Western knowledge to massage when treating patients from an individual-based approach. Sydney is also passionate about educating patients in corrective compensation-pattern exercises, self-abdomen massage, postural awareness, breathing (pranayama) and yoga postures. In her spare time Sydney enjoys various hobbies; climbing, yoga, hiking, contact improvisation dance, surfing, figure drawing and herbalism.
